Find information about the East Riding Business Waste Handbook
With over 100 million tonnes being generated each year, waste is a significant and growing problem in our society.
Such large accumulations of waste, not only affects the quality of all our lives in terms of the environmental impact, it also imposes a considerable cost burden on businesses. Much of this waste can be reduced, re-used or recycled.
With new markets being created every year, what is currently regarded as waste is now increasingly being recognised as materials with a value, a lost business opportunity and as sources of profit.
Additionally, non-hazardous waste must now be treated before it can be landfilled.
