The documents on this page will be useful if you are looking to tie recycling into the National Curriculum. There are a number of teaching resources and lesson plans already available, with National Curriculum links, as highlighted in the Useful Contacts and Links section of this site.

 

These documents will be useful in providing an overview of how schools can work towards becoming sustainable, including reducing, reusing and recycling waste, alongside the National Curriculum.

 

Green Check

Green Check is a school-based Environmental Management System (EMS) closely linked to the Department for Education and Skills’ Sustainable Schools Strategy, as well as Eco Schools.

Mapping guidance

Commissioned by the Department for Children, Schools and Families, this document is designed for teachers, senior school staff, head teachers and governors looking to identify how their school could use one or more national recognition scheme to tackle the different aspects of sustainable development as set out in the National Framework for Sustainable Schools.
