Composting our garden waste prevents it from going to landfill. This organic waste can be up to a third of our weekly rubbish.
Composting garden waste also creates a useful a useful resource as it can be used to replace nutrients in the garden and on houseplants.
Both councils encourage home composting by recommending the use of composters.
