Use the compostable liners provided for your kitchen caddy. But remember -

  • replace the liners every three to four days
  • let hot food cool before putting it in
  • keep the bags away from young children

How to use your kitchen caddy and brown bin

Your brown bin is emptied on the same day of the week as your black bin, but every two weeks. Look at your supplied magnet or sticker for your collection day.

Please only use the compostable liners provided by us for your food waste. Tie them up when full and put them in the brown bin.

If you need help moving your bin, we can give you an assisted collection. Please call 01482 300 300.

Please put your bin out by 7am at the boundary of your property and return it as soon as you can after it’s been emptied.

Remember, please don’t put your garden waste in bags - it must be loose.

If you need a smaller or replacement brown bin, or a replacement kitchen caddy, please email wastemanagement@hullcc.gov.uk or call 01482 300 300.

Replacement Liners

There is a tag towards the end of the roll of compostable liners delivered to you. Please attach it to your brown bin and the collection crew will give you more liners.

Or you can collect liners from any Household Waste Recycling Centre or Customer Service Centre.
